South Africa - pristine wilderness and vibrant cities
If you want to experience a special kind of adventure trip, South Africa is recommended. Experience a completely different culture, wild nature, safari and vibrant cities. You can experience all of this in less than two weeks as part of an unforgettable tour.
About the south of Africa
Anyone who is not so geographically versed and thinks that Africa consists almost entirely of desert is wrong. Of course, the Sahara is probably the most ruthless and hottest place in the world and certainly an incredibly huge desert. But it does not extend across Africa. The south is different. Of course there is also desert here, but also coasts, national parks, wine regions, impressive waterfalls and agriculture. Wildlife, flora and fauna are unique. Hardly anywhere else on earth do you have the opportunity to gather so many impressions of foreign cultures, cities and wild animals as here.
With a little luck you can marvel at the “Big Five” in the wild on a safari: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. In addition, the probability of encountering cheetahs, wild dogs, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes and the like is not exactly small.
Which means of travel are suitable?
No matter how you decide, a rental vehicle is essential if you don't want to be exclusively in Cape Town. On the one hand, you could tackle the tour with a good off-road vehicle and try to book hotels or other hostels along your itinerary. Or you can target campsites that are simple and often very inexpensive, but are plentiful. It is advisable to book your parking space as early as possible so that you are not unexpectedly left without one. Anyone who travels a lot should also spend restful nights. It is worth investing a little more money in the vehicle. With a motorhome you have all the travel comfort you want with you.
What could your tour look like?
Let's start with one of the shorter tours. It lasts 10 days, starts and ends in Johannesburg and crosses the north of South Africa. The highlight here is the Kruger National Park.
The Garden Route with the wine region of South Africa is also recommended. It starts and ends in Cape Town.
