world Iceland – General

Iceland is the biggest volcanic island of the world. Iceland has many faces, rugged fjords, scenic coastlines, highlands, sizzling geysirs, bubbling hot springs, gigantic waterfalls – called foss in Iceland. A country very fascinating: rough but nevertheless very beautiful. Northern Lights also called Aurora borealis can be seen with good luck between the end of August and beginning of April.

nature Iceland – Nature

Iceland is home for many flights of migrating birds, approx. 80 different species, puffins, skuas and kittiwakes. Seal, artic fox, reindeer, sheep and of course the Icelandic horse can be seen. During summer time blue lupins as far as the eye can see and in the higlands the arctic fireweed delights the heart of the photographer.

 camping Iceland – Camping

Campgrounds are available throughout the country. There are different kind of campgrounds: very basic with no facilities, with fresh water and electricity or “Full Hook-Up”:  electricity, fresh water, grey- and black water. Dumping: with a “Full Hook-Up” directly on the site, otherwise on the central dumping station of the campground or on central dumping stations in the city or at certain gas stations. Rates are approx. EUR 20-40. On the basic campgrounds in the nature the experience is outstanding. During high season, we recommend to pre reserve popular sites.
