What do you think when you hear about Finland? Lakes, forests, sauna, midnight sun? All this you find in Finland, quietness, loneliness when travelling across the countless lakes or up north toward the polar circle, when enjoying a relaxing sauna and a barbecue after an interesting day which never seems to end … with the midnight sun.

248 breeding bird species, over 70 fish species exist in Finland. Mammals such as brown bear, gray wolf, wolverine and elk can be seen, Whooper Swan, Capercaillie and european eagle-owl. The most common breeding birds are the willow warbler, common chaffinch and redwing. Fly rod enthusiasts are happy about northern pike, perch or Atlantic salmon.

Campgrounds are available throughout the country. There are different kind of campgrounds: very basic with no facilities, with fresh water and electricity or “Full Hook-Up”:  electricity, fresh water, grey- and black water. Dumping: with a “Full Hook-Up” directly on the site, otherwise on the central dumping station of the campground or on central dumping stations in the city or at certain gas stations. Rates are approx. EUR 25-40. In the middle of nature, on basic campgrounds, the experience is outstanding. During high season, we recommend to pre reserve popular sites.
