Holland - the great unknown

Do you fancy something new? A vacation that you haven't had before? Tired of the Adriatic, Mediterranean, Aegean or Red Sea? Are you already bothered by mass tourism in Mallorca? Countries like India, Cuba or Thailand are too far away for you? We have a tip for you! Holland!

Why Holland?

What do you think of when you hear Holland or the Netherlands? Amsterdam? Naturally. Rotterdam? Is obvious. Cheese, windmills, wooden shoes or tulips? These are also typical associations with Holland. Holland has a lot more to offer. The history of Amsterdam is interesting. Great artists like van Gogh lived here. You are surely also familiar with Anne Frank. Or how about the beautiful church tower with a viewing terrace called Wester Kerk?

The offer is also varied outside the cities.

There we have, for example, the Oosterschelde National Park or the largest swamp area in Europe called Oostvaardersplassen. And then there is the endless Wadden Sea as a Unesco World Heritage Site, where with a bit of luck you can watch seals, dolphins and whales ... You see, there is a lot to see and discover.

Holland is a country of campers

What you have probably already known is that Holland is a country of campers. In the summer, thousands of the Dutch drive their caravans and mobile homes through half of Europe, to the most beautiful beaches of the south in Spain, France, Italy, Croatia and Greece. What very few of us have on the bill: a trip with the motorhome through Holland is highly recommended. Be independent of hotels, motels or vacation homes. Think in advance about what you want to see and travel on your itinerary. Fix a rough (!) Travel route and let yourself be carried away. You know how much time you can spend on vacation. Use this time and go about it stress-free. We make a non-binding suggestion of what your tour of Holland could look like. You should plan for two to three weeks.

Fly to Amsterdam. Take a few days to soak up the Venice of Holland. Whether art, culture or nightlife - there is plenty of everything. We consider three to four days to be appropriate. Then rent a motorhome (preferably before you start your journey). Now it's up to you. Do you want to drive along the coast towards The Hague? Then marvel at one of the largest ports in Europe in Rotterdam? The national couple De Biesbosch is not far from Rotterdam. Here the journey could continue. A detour to the picturesque Hertogenbosch is definitely worth it. Then you could drive north to Lelystad via the De Hoge Veluwe National Park. This is the starting point for exploring the largest swamp area. Finally it goes back to Amsterdam, where you return the motorhome and start your journey home.
