France counts 48 “Parcs Naturels Régionaux” and many lakes to relax. The Camargue is western Europe’s largest river delta. Approx. a third of the Camargue is either lakes or marshland. The Camargue is home to more than 400 species of birds. Its brine ponds provide one of the few European habitats for the greater flamingo. Camargue horses roam the extensive marhslands, along with Camargue cattle.
