Botswana - an insider tip in Africa

Botswana attracts with its unique landscape, shaped by the Kalahari desert and the Okavango delta. The country has a savannah climate and moderate temperatures, although in winter (May to the beginning of September) strong temperature differences between day and night are to be expected. Due to the opposite seasons, a visit to Botswana is particularly suitable when the cold winter is approaching Europe.

Admirable animal kingdom

The flora and fauna of Botswana invite you to visit - the surroundings of the Okavango Delta impress with an extremely large variety of animals: herds of elephants, hyenas and black-maned Kalahari lions bring unforgettable experiences. Antelopes, buffalo, hippos, big cats and rare bird species can also be found in the national parks. As a result, however, insect protection should not be neglected when visiting Botswana.

The landscape itself also amazes the visitor. The well-known Makgadikgadi salt pans are the result of a dry lake and can be admired with grassland and baobabs, the baobab tree. The Okavango River is partly responsible for the country's lush vegetation due to numerous floods.

A tour to Victoria Falls

Botswana, located in southern Africa, is definitely worth a visit. An all-wheel camper tour starting in Kasane or Maun to the Moremi and Choebe National Parks and the Victoria Falls in neighboring Zimbabwe offers an eventful experience. As a world natural heritage site, the Victoria Falls are a real tourist magnet. However, if you want to visit the amazing falling edge, you shouldn't go there in the rainy season due to the extreme water masses.

Botswana offers a stunning scenery, which also explains the many fully booked campsites. The subtropical inland itself, however, is sparsely populated and most of the residents live along the main transport routes. A fully fueled camper, which should also offer a lot of ground clearance, is therefore recommended, as you can find yourself in somewhat remote locations every now and then. Nevertheless, a true nature and animal lover will not miss this fantastic country with its atmospheric sunsets.
