Bosnia and Herzegovina – a motorhome travel country

When someone goes on a journey, he can experience something. At least when he is not vacationing in some all-inclusive club on the Turkish Riviera, but when he is traveling to an exciting country on his own - and that in the form of a round trip that has no fixed time and location plan. Then you do what makes a vacation particularly interesting. You embark on the adventure of a journey of discovery, mingle with the locals, satisfy your own curiosity and let your mind wander. If you are not willing to book a long-haul trip and still want to discover southern flair, you can think about a vacation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mobile home is the ideal means of travel. Because with nothing you are more flexible and independent than with the mobile small apartment.

Interesting facts about Bosnia and Herzegovina

The country is colorful. It starts with the spoken languages. Anyone who thought that Bosnian was the main language spoken here will be surprised. Serbian and Croatian are just as present as Bosnian. The capital Sarajevo is a must-see big city with an ancient core. The country itself is not too big with just over 51,000 square kilometers and a good 3.5 million inhabitants. But just big enough to enjoy a round trip for 2-3 weeks that will certainly not be boring. Incidentally, Bosnia and Herzegovina is not yet part of the EU. Therefore not the monetary union either. The local currency is called the convertible mark.

Since the country borders on Croatia to the south, one can imagine that the climate is warm and Mediterranean. Almost true. Because it is actually a mixture of Mediterranean and continental climates. The winters can be bitterly cold and the summers extremely hot. The connection to the Adriatic seems to be lush when you open the Atlas. But the impression is wrong. The stretch of coast that belongs to Bosnia and Herzegovina is 20 km long. Instead, you will find wooded mountain landscapes in the interior of the country with mountain peaks of almost 2,400 meters. As you can see, there is a lot here that makes a tour exciting.

Go where?

The best way to start a tour is in Sarajevo. Rent a motorhome or camper in such a way that it is ready for you at the airport. Then set rough milestones that seem interesting. How about going north first, to Zenica, then to Doboj and Banja Luka? Via Jaice and Bugojno it then goes south via Mostar to the Adriatic coast. The commonly known highlights? The old town of Mostar, the Kravica waterfalls, of course the capital Sarajevo or the Blidinje Nature Park. As I said - the country is very diverse and exciting.
