Bohemian Switzerland - from/to Prague

Pick-up your motorhome or camper. Get known with your new home on wheels. Stop by the next supermarket and get installed on the first campground.

A first stop is Karlštejn Castle, which was designed as a treasure house for Emperor Charles IV. Your journey will take you on to West Bohemia, with Plzeň as the main town. The brewery Prazdroj (Pilsner Urquell) is well known, where you can learn all about beer brewing. Today’s destination is the spa town of Karlovy Vary.

Enjoy a full day at leisure and enjoy in Karlovy Vary. It is worth a visit to Cheb (Eger) with its well-preserved old town and the Emperor’s Palatinate, which is enthroned above the river. You can also visit the castles of Bečov and Kynžvart, as well as Loket Castle.

Drive to Krásná Lípa, the centre of Bohemian Switzerland. A little further north, the Loreta Chapel in Rumburk and Šluknov Castle are worth seeing. Your final destination today is Hřensko.

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Hřensko. Take advantage of the day for example a hike in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains with its bizarre rock formations, deep forests and the rushing Elbe. For example, visit the natural rock gate Pravčická brána (Pravčická brána) and enjoy the beautiful scenery on a boat trip.

Today you are leaving Bohemian Switzerland again. Make a first stop in Děčín to see the imposing castle overlooking the Elbe. Then you can visit two other castles in the small town of Benešov nad Ploučnicí. Your final destination today is Mělník.

Drive all the way to the sandstone cliffs Adršpašsko-Teplické skály (Adersbach-Weckelsdorfer Rocks). Enjoy the beautiful landscape. Drive back to Tratenau where you will get installed on a campground.

Drive to Turnov and exlpore the Sychrov Castle near the city.

Drive to the Kost Castle and visit the small town of Jičín. Drive all the way back to Prague.
