Spain is located on the Iberian Peninsula, which is in the very southwest of Europe. The kingdom covers an area of approx. 505,900 km², making it the third largest country in Europe. Spain shares the Iberian Peninsula with Portugal, Gibraltar and the Principality of Andorra. There are basically four climate zones: a typical mountain climate in the Sierra Nevada or the Pyrenees, an Atlantic climate in the north of Spain, a continental climate in the interior of Spain and a Mediterranean climate in the south of Spain.

Madrid offers a perfect start to enjoying the Spanish lifestyle with a motorhome. Since 2021, the Madrid sites Paseo del Prado, Buen Retiro and Retiro Park have been UNESCO World Heritage sites. The city that never rests has something to offer everyone - museums & galleries, history, gastronomy, nightlife and fashion!
Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park
This natural paradise in the majestic Pyrenees of Aragon, with an altitude of 700 to 3,300 meters, reveals the untouched beauty of the Pyrenees and presents a fantastic variety of ecosystems. The park has an area of 15,608 hectares and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Europe's highest limestone mountain range offers deep gorges and rugged rock formations, mountain streams with clear water, green forests and meadows.
Costa Brava
The "wild" coast of Catalonia has many facets. Extensive beaches, pine-lined bays and steep cliffs that rise above the sparkling Mediterranean. The Costa Brava is 220 kilometers long from Portbou to Blanes with around 200 beaches and bays, picturesque fishing villages and lively coastal towns that are wonderful to travel around in a camper van. The Girona region offers a culinary treat with various Michelin-starred restaurants. Whether a grand tour for gourmets, walks through picturesque vineyards, diving tours in the bays of Cap de Creus to marvel at shipwrecks or a visit to the La Garrotxa National Park - the offer is huge!
Barcelona, the capital of the Catalans
Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain after Madrid, is located on the northeastern Mediterranean coast and is the capital of Catalunya, a region of northern Spain with a unique culture and traditions. The beautiful Park Güell is one of the main attractions in Barcelona. The most famous sight and landmark of Barcelona is the fascinating Sagrada Familia Basilica. Barcelona not only has a lot to offer culturally and culinary, but also the special feature that this European metropolis is located on a 4.5 kilometer long sandy beach.
Traditions of Spain
Spanish culture consists of a mixture of different influences from Roman, Arab and Christian rulers. It is famous for lively and colorful customs and festivals with pure joie de vivre and hospitality. The bullfight "La Corrida de Toros" has its origins in the Spanish knightly culture and the "Torero" or "Matador" is the main actor in the bullfight. The traditional dance in Spain is flamenco and is a passionate mixture of dance, song and music. Pure siesta and fiesta!
